If you feel like there is no separation between your work and your personal life, you are exhausted all the time or you lack motivation to get things done, here are some ways to avoid burnout even when working from home.
1. Create your own space, even if it is just a comfortable chair.
Still working from the couch? Not all of us have a dedicated office space, however, since there is no schedule for returning to the office, having a working desk and computer, including a comfortable chair is very important for you to be able to work comfortably and efficiently.
2. Overcomes "Zoom fatigue".
According to a survey of frequent Zoomers, it was found that 1 in 10 felt high levels of fatigue and one third felt some level of fatigue.
Opting for audio-only meetings when possible also allows you to feel less tied to the computer and can alleviate camera fatigue.
3. Establish boundaries and limits
Set a firm start time and end time for your day, and make time for breaks and meals. Since this can be incredibly difficult to do if you feel like you're full of tasks and think you don't have the time, look at it this way: if you're burned out, you can't be an effective employee.
If you're the type of worker who does everything, now is the time to "lighten your load." You have a team for a reason!
4. Practice self-care
Exercise is vitally important, as is making sure you get a good night's sleep and practicing mindfulness, which is nothing more than seeing without judgment and with compassion what we are feeling in the present moment.
Another good practice is to make a list of things that bring you joy and include them in your agenda to avoid burnout.
As we can see, those responsible for making our work and family space a more enjoyable and less stressful place is absolutely ours. It is the small adjustments in the day to day that result in change!
