Working from home - better or worse than before?

The best way to define your working hours and boundaries from home is to think about what your schedule was like when you worked in person:

Did you take some breaks from sharing coffee and good conversations with your co-workers?

What was your lunch time like - did you switch off while eating, getting some rest and recharging your energy, or did you keep an eye on your schedule even at this time?

After finishing your working hours, were you still working?

What can we do to prevent working from home from meaning working without hours and without limits?

  • Take your PAUSES, without guilt, without thinking about what you still have pending.
  • Disconnect for your allotted time - 10, 15, 20 minutes.
  • Define your workspace and respect your break space. The idea here is to recreate what it would be like if you were in your office. The more jealous you are of your space, the better your break is.

Keep sharing with your colleagues. These spaces for conversation and disconnection recharge and make the days more bearable.

The biggest advantage of working from home is that we definitely have more freedom of movement.

Ask yourself: Taking into account all my responsibilities, what would my ideal day look like? Your answer is the best way to organise yourself. The one that will make you feel the best and certainly the least stressful for you. Do your best to recreate it.

While each of these tips are key to bringing order to your emotional state, the reality is that if you are burned-out - apathetic, lacking energy, unfocused, depressed - or if you are near-constantly stressed, professional help gives you the key information you need to heal.
