Last week we discussed 5 of the top 10 causes of workplace stress. Today , we’ll talk about the other five: ?
6. Work colleagues:
Support from coworkers can increase our resilience and commitment, but in the opposite case or in tense environments, it could be a major cause of stress.
7. Workplace safety:
Organizations and leaders must also provide other levels of support, from managing their employees' workload to providing good on-the-job training.
8. Working from home:
The pandemic has forced organizations to adapt their work policies to hybrid models.
Certainly, this has not been easy for companies and employees, as it has been seen that this modality, where work boundaries can easily become blurred, is a major cause of stress.
9. Commuting daily:
Long daily commutes have been shown to interfere with daily life patterns by restricting free time and reducing sleep time.
It is important to note that this ranks much lower, suggesting that changing it is not the ultimate solution for reducing stress.
10. Other factors:
There are countless factors that could cause stress in our lives. Here are a few to consider:
· Poor working conditions
· Poor working relationships
· Lack of work-life balance
· Lack of organizational culture
IMPORTANT: Reducing stress in the workplace is both an organizational and personal responsibility. We must consider which aspects of our personality and emotions can make us more prone to stress.
Join us next week to discover what these traits are and how to manage them effectively.
