You finished one pending task after another. Now what?

How do you treat yourself whenever you finish a task on your to-do list?
We often put pressure on ourselves and don't give ourselves the space to recognize the good work we are doing.

When you sit down to work, as you finish task after task, to-do after to-do, take a couple of minutes to celebrate yourself. Something simple:

A coffee, a book, giving yourself permission to relax and think about what you've wanted to think about but haven't been able to because you're busy, getting away from the computer, from your cell phone. Anything. It's your time.

When you return to work, even if it was only for a couple of minutes, you will feel better simply because you are allowing yourself to release that self-imposed pressure. You are giving yourself some space, and you are doing so knowing that it is okay.

Recognize yourself. Relax. And come back recharged.

You will start the next task with more energy, clarity, and a better attitude.

Remember that avoiding and overcoming burnout is a daily task. It is a compound effect. Do small things (that don't require much effort on your part) to gradually relieve the emotional burden that you have been accumulating over time.
